In Europe, esp. Denmark&Norway, who are non-western immigrants? Is a non-white American a non westerner there?

No. Non-western immigrants are those from Africa, eastern Europe, Asia and south America. In Norway we have the most immigrants from Pakistan, Poland and Somalia (actually the most come from Sweden, but those don’t really count as immigrants). A non-white American will be considered a western immigrant, but if I passed an African American person on the street I would assume that they wee African, seeing as there are a lot more African immigrants in Norway than Americans:) I believe that an American immigrant will be much faster integrated than say, someone from Southern Europe. The minute you speak English people will accept you more easily than if you only speak french or italian or whatever. (Not that everyone is not accepted)

What is meant by “Housing accommodation”?

Would you please explain the term “Housing accommodation” to me .Housing is the same as accomodation so why we say “Housing accommodation” !

I believe it is either money allowed to go towards housing, or a home that is supplied as part of a benefit.

I was wondering if someone could recommend me some cheap alternatives to Billabong, Roxy, Quiksilver, Fox, etc. Or if you could recommend me some cheap stores that sell these brands.. that’d be even better.

At stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls I’ve seen Billabong and Roxy. I don’t think I’ve seen Fox. And as for Quiksilver, that’s for men.

I would have to go with Lisa Fernandez. She has more gold medals than Cat Osterman and Jennie Finch. Cat Osterman is a great pitcher but she hasn’t had the experience that Lisa Fernandez. Jennie Finch is just a publicity stunt. She is good but not great. She only pitches a few innings here and there and is not the best.

Can a compound have a alkane and a alkyne functional group?

i want to make sure i’m thinking of this in a right way…so like for 1-hexyne…..the carbon to carbon triple bond is the alkyne functional group and the rest of that is the alkane functional group???????

how about Hexanoic acid…..the one part of it is a carboxylic acid functional group…….and rest is an alkane functional group?

is this right???

Ginkgo nuts? Your experience!?

Have you ever cooked using ginkgo nuts? Or your family, say grandmother? I tried several times gathering fresh ones, cleaning them, and cooking (boiling and roasting). The end was a little disappointing - bland, boring.

I never roasted them, but I remember cracking the shell and putting them into steam egg custard(chawan-mushi). I think that’s the best way to eat them. Ginko nuts aren’t my favorite, but I think that’s the dish you should try them in. Try searching “chawanmushi.”

However I don’t blame the youngsters. We watch English movies and always hear good about abroad. You also get recognition when you study abroad. These are reasons why youngsters prefer to go abroad. Hence let’s appreciate their wish and motivate them.

We really don’t what is waiting for us abroad. Life is tough, everything is artificial. All these youngsters who go abroad will understand how good India was.

How hot does it get inside a tractor trailer?

Trying to see how the temperature outside a trailer relates to the temperature inside the trailer. For example, if it is 80 degrees outside, will it be 100 degrees inside the trailer?

If parked in direct sunlight…. 120F EASY. If the trailer is going down the highway, at 75mph it will still reach the 90’s.

Some other factors to consider are the number of time the driver stops and opens the doors for deliveries. Is the trailer a refrigerated unit? With a “refer” it can be 110*F outside and -20*F inside the trailer if set that low. A non-refrigerated trailer often is NOT as airtight and will allow some air circulation, albeit not a tremendous amount.
